You read it correctly. We intend to raise one million dollars in 2008. These funds will go toward research for better treatment, detection, and prevention of pancreatic cancer (see announcement).
Our affiliation with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network assures you and us that we are only funding research dedicated 100% to pancreas cancer. This deadly disease has been ignored for too long.
Pancreatic cancer is the #4 killer of all cancers and yet receives about one-tenth the funding of other leading cancers (see graph). So we’re going to help.
Patty’s team is asking ordinary folks to help us do extraordinary things in 2008 (Read Patty’s story).
How? By helping us get the word out. It’s really simple.
Just think, you can help 37,000 people have a little more hope and maybe even live a little longer just by sending an email today!
Our goal is to get in front of 1,000,000 million people over the next six months – Stop and imagine that, 1 million households in six months! That is a goal only achievable with the help of people like you.
If just 2.5% of those 1,000,000 people make a small donation we’ll reach our goal of $1,000,000.
Ok, here is how you can be involved in this groundbreaking, grass roots movement. A movement to take on one of the deadliest cancers of all – head on. Together, we can make a difference.
First, please consider making a donation yourself of $25 or more. If you can’t, that’s ok. We’re just glad you took time to visit. If you do want to make a monetary contribution just go to our donate page and click on the link for the desired amount.
Second, and this is absolutely key to our reaching our goal, send
this web site address to everyone you know. Ask them to get involved
by doing what you have just done – consider a small donation and forward
the site to everyone in their email address book.
